problem with avg anti virus free 2015

for some reason my virus scanner always seem to stop at this point,no error message or anything it just sits there and eventually i have to force quit out of it.im using windows 7 but i was wondering how to fix this

I'd first of all run chkdsk to verify disk and file system integrity. Assuming the scan is getting stuck on your 'C' drive, open an elevated command prompt (Run as administrator) and enter the following, then press Enter:

chkdsk /r c:

The check will run at the next boot.

If the scan still gets stuck after running chkdsk and you have no other real-time protection, then the problem is likely with AVG's scanning engine.
