Problem with Canon Printer.

Hi, I'm having trouble with my Canon BJC-1000 printer. It still prints, but there are lines across the text, that were never there before. The cartridge is a remanufactured version, because finding an unused one is difficult. It was bought that way, I did not do it myself. Can anyone help? Or is it time to buy a new printer?

 

I couldn't find any cleaning sheets for that, just alcohol pads.
Did you try aligning?
You can probably still use that one, but newer printers
aren't as expensive as they used to be.

 

Not necessarily! Have you tried doing a thorough cleaning of the cartridge head, the print head and the roller? Any one of these can cause the black lines you mention as a result of built up ink, dust, paper fiber, etc. You can usually find a cleaning kit specific to your printer but not always. If you can't find a kit you can use q-tips and rubbing alcohol. Make sure your printer is unplugged if using this method and just dampen the q-tip..you don't want the alcohol dripping off the end so it saturates anything and don't use a lot of force..just a light touch is all you need until the surface is clean. Last time I did my dads printer we went through about 30 q-tips but it printed like a new printer when we were done.

 

Thanks I'll have to try that, although the lines it's printing are white, as if it wasn't printing the entire line. I'll let you know the results.
