I have no ploblem playing DVD'S on my dvd player but when I go into device manager this is what shows up:

    Device Manager

    Cd-Rom Controllers

(Yellow exclamation point) Mitsumi CD-ROM Controller with Double-Speed Drive

    Under Device Status it says:

This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all
    the drivers installed.

Then I ask it to look for a better driver and it tells me the one that is already
    installed is the best one.

    C:\WINDOWS\INF\ADAPTER.INF

The Conflicting Device List it says that there are no conflicts.

The weird thing is that I'm able to watch movies on my DVD player just fine.

    Any help would be appreciated!

don't wake the bear that's sleeping. (don't know if that's a saying in the us but it is here :) )

I wouldn't worry. Obviously windooze don't support it a 100% but as long as you don't miss out on any functions I wouldn't worry about it. Starting to mess about may bring death and destruction to your drive instead :D
