problem with EEE PC SSD 20GB

Hi,

Recently, i just discovered during formating of C: and D: that my single 20gb SSD drive was ..strangely divided into 1master (3.75gb) and 1 slave (15gb) (look into the BIOS). It was configured by the technician at Asus store, im not sure what program did he use, but the drive wasnt partition normally because my single drive has turned into 2 drives!!

Right now, i have trouble with low space on C:, and i wish to merge both volumes together, master and slave... into single 20gb SSD. are there any ways to do it ?

 

for this sort of thing I use partition magic but maybe someone can suggest a freeware utility to do the same thing, what operating system are you using?

 

Hello, after an intensive search on google, i realised that i 've been very wrong. EEC PC came with onboard 4gb HD and 16GB Flash HD...that explains why it shows master and slave volume on my BIOS.

But thank though, im going to use partition magic to see if i can sort of mix them in 1 volume...but im negative.


Btw, i might try using ubuntu to see if i can minimize space usage by OS in my 4gb drive..because at present, my windows XP took up 2gb+ !!! and that left my 4gb very vulnerable.

 

I could be wrong but far as I know you cant merge drives in PM
