Problem with explorer.exe crashing-

Ok guys, I go to my network places, click on the place i want to get to via the wireless network that is being shared over the wireless network, I double click on it to get to it...I wait...It freezes...I try to close it my network places thats trying to get to it-I push the x- it says its not responding i push ok- BOOM! Start menu/explorer.exe gone, all my internet explorer windows become corrupted/crash-until i restart windows. Any help...or questions that I need to answer? Windows XP Pro Corp.
