    I have this problem with my floppy drive. every time I start up my computer it gives me this error screen. it says;
    Fixed Disk 0: FUJITSU MPC3064AT-(PM)
ATAPI Removable Drive: LS-120 CSMO 05-(SM) UHD Floppy
    ERROR
    02B0: Diskette drive A error

What should I do about this. it doesn't allow me to run an MS-DOS startup disk.
    any help would be appreciated.

Is there a disc in there when you boot up? Also, is the cable from your MB to the Floppy drive the right way round. Sounds stupid i know, but floppy drives are difficult things and the cable from MB to the drive must be connected properly in order for it to function properly.

I don't think the cables are turned around and I tried booting with and without a disk in it. I thinks it a naming problem.

Make sure the cable is plugged in securely on the drive and to the motherboard.

Does the light on the floppy come on or stay on when you see the error?

LS-120 floppy drives are fickle (120mb floppy). I've got one that doesn't work also. Not sure, but I think they use a laser to read 120mb. Can you fit a standard 1.44mb floppy to get you out of trouble. I know this doesn't solve your LS-120 trouble, though. Bazza

See my post to your other thread on this topic.

Is that description of your floppy drive in the error message accurate? Is that the kind of floppy drive you have in your system?

If not, change the BIOS setting to match the drive you have installed as your A: drive. The system won't do that for you.

Shuji, as per Rob M, what floppy have you installed on your PC?

LS120 refers to a 120mb floppy (fairly rare)
or 3.5" 1.44 mb floppy (usually standard on 7 year old PC's).

    I don't think LS120's were around 7 years ago.
I have a swoppable one for my 5 year old Gateway Solo 9300, W98SE,P2/400.

Maybe power down and disconnect it altogether. Reboot again without it connected, close it down, reconnect and reboot. Windows hopefully may detect new hardware and install correct drivers, etc.

As Rob M suggests, check out your BIOS first. Bazza
