I posted this earlier, but the title is now changed -

When I insert disc 2, the NFS logo comes up, the screen goes a really dark grey as if it's about to start running and then all goes black and the system restarts. Any solutions to this?

Could be a number of problems; your PSU is strained out and forcing the video card to switch to 3d and consuming more power makes it go pop. Could be that your ram frequency is not on par with your cpu FSB causing issues or maybe even a bad driver install.

I was thinking driver problem too. I'm not sure about the psu, never had this trouble before but then again I suppose this is the first game I'm trying with all the new parts. If it helps, my psu is a standard 400W with a Sapphirre Radeon 9200SE, Gigabyte K8NS Pro, Athlon 64 3200+ and 512mb PC3200.

Such a nice system then you took a nose dive with the cheapest vid card you could find http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/frown.gif. Is it 2x256mb or a single stick of 512? a64's minimum PSU is 400W; unless its generic.

Lol I didn't have much money when I bought the video card, it's next on the list. 1 stick of 512mb and the psu is definitely 400W.

that Might be your problem; can you go into your bios and check out your power readings? are all of them giving out what they say they do? IE - 12v is giving 12v, etc... What extra hardware do you have connected to it?

I will run the BIOS power check later, can't right now as I'm defragging. The PSU is only connected to my motherboard and hd, dvd writer, cd rom and a load of case fans and 2 cathodes. I had the exact same components when I was running my Pentium 3 cpu and motherboad and most games ran fine on that. I haven't checked any other games though yet.

Power is fine, ran the power calculator to see how much power I need, running a 440W psu I discovered and only need 400W, might upgrade it later.

Anyway, got the game working! :D

Was a driver problem all along, turned out the drivers from my cd were too old so downloaded some from driverguide.com and now all is fine, cheers for your help mate.

Actually, AMD reccomends 350w or higher :)

Myself, I went with an Antec Neopower 480w, and I'm happy as can be :)

Yeah I found that too but also with other components in like two hard drives and loads of fans I thought it wiser to be with a 440W psu, wouldn't you agree?????
