Problem with game

Im running windows vista ultimate 64bit and ive not had too many issues thus far. But there is one problem ive had running the game, "Race Driver: Grid"....

Here is what happens. When I first opened the game the first time it asked for my user info and such and I entered it. It then proceeded into the load screen. The load screen stays there indefinitely. The screen just will not go away. It is not frozen and windows says it is responding. Im not sure if it is a hardware issue or what....I simply have no idea. My hardware is up to date enough....I can run crysis just fine so its not like i dont have enough vid memory or something. Also, my 3-year old laptop can run the game (albiet not well) so its not the disk. Any help is appreciated.

 

Have you tried launching the game using XP compatibility mode?

 

OK....So I can run the game with the "-safemode" command line parameter.....but for some reason when I try and up the graphics settings it freaks out. huh. I got the latest drivers and everything and as far as i can tell other people do not have this problem....right now I am blaming windows vista.

The game site has a list of supported graphics cards....Mine is not on it. The latest one on the web site says nvidia 9800, I have 260, could this possibly be the problem?
