problem with graphics

I have an HP pavillion dv6704nr (originally vista) that I recently changed to Win XP. It has an AMD 64X2 with NVidia GeForce Go 7150M graphics card. I have not had sound since I converted to XP. It says there is no mixer available and then beeps(like an error beep). I have another posting in the "drivers" section with no help so I figured I would try here. I recently followed some instructions from that section and no my graphics are slow and skippy when you scroll. I have tried speeding up my mouse properties to no avail, HP's website has no graphics or sound drivers that seem to work. NVidia drivers say that no hardware matches and then shuts down. I have tried acquiring an XP recovery disk for this model to no avail. I have run an everest report and unknown devices scan.

Any help would be appreciated.
