problem with HP printer drivers

Hey,

I have an HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One printer. I installed the software/drivers that came on the CD packaged with the printer. Everything seems to work fine, but whenever I open or restart my laptop, a "Windows Installer" window keeps opening and trying to install something. It then tells me that it needs something off of the CD, but when I put the CD in it still can't find the files. It's an inconvenience at most, but I would like to know why it keeps doing this. If I uninstall the software, the printer can still print, but I can't scan or copy.

What Windows version?

*do make sure you are loged into the admin account when doing the below*

I have had similar in the past with HP AIO drivers on the model I have now which is one below yours the 4380, what I did was uninstall the HP drivers and software then unplug the printer USB cable, then download and run this Windows Installer Cleanup Util and remove anything named as being in connection with your Printer (do be careful as this software is powerful)

Then run CCleaner and its cleaner and registry tools (run the registry one until nothing is listed for removal) then download the latest driver from HP for that model printer here (need to choose your Windows version from the list) and re-install but dont connect the printer until told.
