Problem With Malwarebytes

So i purchased a copy of malwarebytes pro and all, and i had it running great for ages, however all of a sudden, when i try to either update it or uninstall it i cant, i get error, unins000.dat couldnt be opened: error 5.
Any ideas??

Malwarebytes Anti Malware 1.38, havnt been able 2 update 4 ages.

Wow. Malwarebytes is up to version 1.41 already, so yours is REALLY old. You should go to their user support forum here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?

They'll be able to tell you exactly what that error message means and get you sorted out. I think there's a cleaning tool, too, so you can remove it completely from your system. Anyway, the folks there will definitely get you some help. Good luck!

thanks for the effort, but i cant uninstall malwarebytes through add or remove programs.
Any other ideas?

Hi

What Windows version do you have and also what other security applications are installed?

Did you try Amethyst_08's post and the reference to the MBAM uninstall tool?

Also can you rather than uninstall or update the application via its menus, just install the latest version as it should overwrite the previous one.

You could also try Revo Uninstaller and see if MBAM is listed and if so see if this app will uninstall it for you.
