Problem With Malwarebytes

I’m wondering if any users of Malwarebytes are having similar problems to the one I have. If you have do you know the cause and, more importantly, the solution?

I can open and use Malwarebytes fine. I can also update without issue.

However, if I want to check a file with Malwarebytes I encounter a problem. If I point my cursor to the file, right click and choose ‘Scan with Malwarebytes’ I receive an error message: “Unexpected error while signaling first instance.” Please see the attached image, which is a screenshot of said error message. Malwarebytes doesn’t open and scan the file.

If I open Malwarebytes and then try to scan the file I receive the same error message but Malwarebytes does scan the file and report on its scan.

The problem did go away for some time so I thought Malwarebytes must have been aware of it and fixed it. However, the problem has returned. I have tried searching Malwarebytes for a solution. I tried their AI Chatbot and I did an advanced google search of their site for that error message. None of these things proved useful as I found no solution.

It’s more a minor nuisance rather than a major issue but if it can be fixed I’d like to sort it out.

 

EDIT: I have just scanned a file with Malwarebytes and none of the above issues occurred; therefore, the issue seems to be intermittent.
