Problem with MS Word

My daughter was using the WordArt feature in Microsoft Word (from Office 2000) and made a document. She tells me she printed it, then closed the program without saving the document. Now, everytime I open Word to start a new document, her WordArt text appears. I can delete the text, but the same thing happens each time I start Word.

My son tried to fix it and typed additional characters in the document. They also appear with each new document.

I have reinstalled the software and renamed all previous Normal.dot documents. I did not uninstall/reinstall in the safe mode. Is this a registry problem? PLEASE help me; it's driving me batty!

this is got to do with profile issue more than registry.
delete all temp files.
by typing %temp% in start - run window, you will access the temp folder. Delete all the contents. Warning! you may lose some of your personal settings.

 

For anyone who may have this problem, I called Microsoft and here's the fix:

Go to START/RUN and type %appdata%
Open MICROSOFT
Open TEMPLATES
Delete the file named NORMAL having a yellow border at the top
Open WORD and a new blank NORMAL file will be created
