Problem With MSE

The last three days have seen, at least once per day, Microsoft Security Essentials pop up with an amber warning that 'it is a long time since a scan was performed. Do I want to perform one now?'

It is scheduled to scan once a week on Saturdays and is also set to check for updates before a scan.

On Thursday, I assumed it may have missed last weeks scan so clicked to update and run a quick scan. This came back all clear.

On Friday it showed the same pop up, so I was a bit curious as to why having performed a scan 24 hours earlier it did not know it had. So I ran another scan after checking for updates.

On Saturday it repeated itself about an hour after performing the scheduled scan, so I was getting very confused.

On Sunday (today) it did it again, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled Comodo Internet Security AV and Firewall.

Just having to let Defense+ get to know everything again but it is less worrying than having MSE with alzeimers.

Is anyone else having any problems with MSE?

I've never bothered with MSE. I've used Comodo Internet Security for years, and am thoroughly satisfied with it. Before that I'd tried about every good security program out there (NOD32, Avast, AVG, etc.). Comodo has my vote every time... it's easy to use, extremely configurable, and very easy on system resources.

I read another thread from late last year with the same problem. The advice given:
The poster said that solved it but didn't mention if the solution was a time/date correction or a re-install.

MSSE works well and seems to use very little resources. I only installed in on one computer with too little RAM. Since it was not my computer, I tried to put security programs on that didn't tax the resources.

    Thanks Plodr, for the advice.
The date and time are OK on the PC but instead of reinstalling, which I did think about, I just downloaded Comodo again. I already used their Firewall and had previously used the full Internet Security.

MSE is still working fine on the laptop so cannot figure out what it was doing being a bit awkward on the PC as everything else is fine.
