    hey guys,
i built a desktop about a month ago, and it worked fine. but after a while, a couple things on my case broke, so i returned the case and got a new one(different however). so after getting this new case, i put everything in it and connected everything accordingly(at least i think). however, after turning it on, all the fans run, but nothing appears on my monitor. additionally, im not sure if my hard drive is turning on as i dont hear or feel anything coming from it. but my main thought is something related with my video card. however, the fan on it runs, and my monitor does detect something when the computer is off, it just doesnt do anything when the computer turns on. so does anyone know what could be the problem?

also, im not sure if this is related but my case didnt come with any wires to attach to the system power LED, but it did come with another cable that attaches to my PSU. could this cause the problem? i really dont know too much about this, so sorry if my knowledge seems kinda lower-level.

by the way, here are my specs:

    CPU: core 2 duo, E6600, 2.4GHz

    RAM: 2 GB DDR2, 667 mghz

    PSU: antec truepower 550W

    GPU: xfx 7900GT

HDD: WD 250 GB 7200 RPM

I would check and be sure the mother board isnt shorting out on a riser in the new case, there should be nothing that i am aware of that the psu should plug to other than mother board and hardware. [dvd,hd,fans,] ed

Welcome to the forum:)First thing that springs to mind is you'v installed the incorrect arrangement of brass standoffs this is the only way your new case could be the culprit, before you remove the mobo though try a cmos reset "located in your manual" or remove the cmos battery "looks like a coin"for 5 secs while the comp is disconnected from the ac,replace and try and fire it up

If its video card related make sure the pci-e extra power connector is connected and also the atx 12v connector, for diagnostic purposes you can unhook the harddrive it isnt needed until you can get to the post screen and if a component is about to go it could take anything else with it so remove any uneeded hardware, soundcards, cdroms ect,the led's wont make any difference even if you hook them up the wrong way round, you only need a power switch ATM so just go with that to keep it simple

Once you checked and DOUBLE checked everythings where it should be and your still having no luck, take it all apart and start again:) check you have just the right number of brass standoffs for your mobo mounting holes, check every connection solidly clicks into place, dont be timid its all under warranty:)

EDIT also check your monitor is connected to the right port,if you can try another monitor,Beat me to it turnered!
