Problem with my PC's responsiveness

My P4 com is now running like a P1 com....everything moves extremely slow, i've got to wait 2mins before the installation wizard for a program runs....its like super laggy.

Probably started with I started changing stuff using the Black VIper info in services.msc. I made a restore point and a reg. backup before I made the changes. But for some reason there is no change when i restore my reg. backup. Furthermore, I cannot restore to a earlier point, they keep telling me its incomplete cause its not possible to rollback to that point. Basically I can't do anything with my com...absolutly shitty. Tried some optimizaion programs...didn't work...used the Black Viper default Home reg. file...but no change. Any suggestions?

While it is hard to beat a fresh installation, there are many things you can try before you give up and format.

First and foremost... have you done the requisite malware removal? If not, follow the instructions in that thread to ensure no nasties are killing your performance.

Post back if that doesn't help. I've got quite a few steps to take to improve performance, but that's the BIGGEST one.
