Problem with Nero DVD menus

I have used Nero 7 to compile and burn DVD movies many times before using NeroVision. I usually accept all defaults, use the default menu screen, and do not break up the video into chapters, so when I load the disc into a DVD player, the defualt blue menu screen appears, with one chapter as the entire movie. This works every time, in any DVD player.

For some reason, when I attempt to break a video up into several chapters, and use one of the fancier animated menus offered by Nero, it doesn't work in any DVD player. The DVD loads fine and the menu appears, displaying all of the chapters. However none of the chapters are pre-highlighted, so I cannot use the DVD remotes navigational buttons to select any of the chapters. Pressing play does nothing either. It's just stuck in a loop on the menu secreen.

Anyone else have this problem?
