    Hello,

I'm using Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 and having problems with it. I've searched everywhere for a solution but found none so I'm asking for your kind help:

After installing the application (including the firewall) I restart the computer as I'm asked for, but then, when the computer starts again, I can't see the Panda in my taskbar! When I open the application manually, everything is disabled. After enabling it, the automatic protection feature is then enabled too, but after doing a restart again, everything comes back to the same situation: No automatic protection when windows starts, no panda in the taskbar and everything is disabled when starting the program manually.

I've tried doing an installation repair – didn't help either.

I'm clueless now, hope you can help me.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nir.

What's Nod32? Is it good? I hate loosing Panda, it's such a great program... I've used 7 with no problems at all, too bad I decided to try version 8 and 9.... :-\

Did my above post help you out? Yes, Nod32 is a very good antivirus. It also has the best hueristics among antivirus and updates daily. And also take up very little resources ;) If you download it there is a 30day trial with all features, just no updates ;) If you have anymore question regarding Nod32 visit there forum

controlmind, your post before the last one was unfortunately not helpful since I've tried all that already.. that's weird, a weird bug, but at least I'm not the only one with this problem... :)

Does Nod32 has a firewall too?

Have you tried re-installing it, instead of repairing it? No nod32 only has a antivirus but has very nice features see here it also detects spyware/adware etc. All the firewalls I have tried worked with nod32 with no problem ;)

I think I solved the problem! I downloaded the evaluation version from Panda'a site... for some reason it's version 8.05.02 and not 9 but now it works fine I think! :)

    Thanks,
    Nir.

I waste my money on nothing. AVG for 4 or 5 years, no viruses.

NOD32 is not for the weak. Had many people who had difficulty using it and one the other day lost his interent and had to use LSP fix to restore it. Stick to a easy to use free program like AVG or Avast. Free firewalls are also available from here like Zone Alarm or Kerio. Overall, I am not a fan of all in one packages.

There is a tutorial for setting up Nod32 the best way. I can give anyone the link for it, if you want it.

Also no viruses for 4-5 yrs also depends on what the persons website habits are.

Not really. Im not here to argue, I can point to lots of people who stay clean with AVG. My point about NOD is correct, dont argue with me, I am not in the mood for your shit today nitpicking over stupid points. If you cant admit the obvious, and want to try and make yourself look right over such vague points, your in the wrong place.
