Thanks for posting the report.. this will help in finding the correct solutions/drivers for your system.
First though we need to get the device manager working properly, just one thing .. have you ran any malware/anti virus scans lately as this could be an infection that is causing the issue.. I would run through the malware removal instructions here..... http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 .. please attempt to do all of the steps related to your OS (xp) and create a new thread in that forum and post the logs required, one of the Malware Experts will take a look at your logs and either give you the all clear or run through a cleaning process with you.... please be patient though as they can be very busy... as soon as you get the all clear post back here and try these fixes to get your device manager back, if it is not already back.....

See if any of these get you into the device manager....

To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods: • Click Start, click Run, and then type devmgmt.msc.
    • Right-click My Computer, click Manage, and then click Device Manager.
    • Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
    • Type the following command at a command prompt:
    start devmgmt.msc

as soon as you have access to your device manager please tell me if you have any yellow ! or red x next to any of the devices.

There is also a fix for the device manager here....

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windowsxp/ht/accessdmcmuxp.htm

    there is also this fix...

1.) Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

2.) At the command prompt, type cd %windir%\system32, and then press ENTER.
Note The %Windir% folder is the folder where you installed Microsoft Windows.

3.) Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.
    Regsvr32 Msxml.dll
    Regsvr32 Msxml2.dll
    Regsvr32 Msxml3.dll

4.) Type exit, and then press ENTER to close the Command Prompt window.

    5.) Restart the computer.

as soon as the device manager is fixed then i will go through the process of fixing your sound issue.

elle have you tried doing this fix for your device manager, it is very easy to do just follow the instructions.
I also noticed that you have started a new thread in the malware forum and that some of your scans are showing malware/viruses, the guys/girls there are excellent at fighting those nasties, I noticed one was a "legacy infection" which i am more than certain is connected to your audio drivers (though i am not 100% as i am not a malware expert!!).
When you are given the all clear with the malware/virus please post back here and we will see if we can solve the other issues your having.

    Hi elle,
Check your system date, it may be that that is causing the device manager not to show also. Run your mouse over the clock at the bottom of your screen, to change the date and time right click on it and put in the correct date and time.

Hi Don't worry about the command line, it is obvious that the file it is trying to copy is not in your file system.
to check to see if you have any windows updates.. start> Programs > windows update> check for updates.

I am pretty concerned about you not been able to access your device manager, those commands that i gave you to run should of gave you access :confused... I will rattle a few folks brains in the software forum and see if we can come up with a fix for you.
Keep going with the malware removal, I have just been reading them, Who was it that put your OS and Other programs on for you ?? was it a friend or someone you paid to do it?? do you own a copy of the OS install disc and the windows key for that OS?? Rather than having a hacked Security Suite (that probably wasn't protecting your machine properly) there are loads of free programs that work just as good and some even better than paid versions. I am currently using Comodo Internet Security 5.4 (free) .......

    http://majorgeeks.com/Comodo_Internet_Security_d6234.html

It is very easy to use and configure and very light on resources, I have not configured the one I am using, I am using the reccommended default settings and have not encountered any issues as of yet, I have it set to scan the whole drive once a month and I do a Spyware scan every week with that and Malwarebytes (free) ......

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

as soon as you have finished up with Kestrel in the Malware forum jump back here and we will get the other issues sorted ok ;)

    Hi elli,
I have been asked to ask you to run the SFC.EXE to see if it will fix or replace any missing or corrupt files.......

    Instructions....

    1. Locate your Windows XP installation CD. If you don't have one, you'll need to locate a directory on your system that's named"i386" (without the quotes). This directory may be on a hidden partition on your hard drive.

    2. Go to Start, then to Run, and type in "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without the quotes - and with a space between the SFC.EXE and the /SCANNOW). The press Enter.

    3. The program may (or it may not) ask you for your Windows XP installation CD - please insert it at the prompt. If it doesn't ask you for the CD this means that it wasn't necessary to replace any files.

    4. In the event the the system asks you for the CD, you must visit Windows Update immediately after the scan is completed (Please note that there won't be any confirmation dialog - the program will just exit without telling you anything).

    5. If this doesn't repair the problem with your system other troubleshooting procedures are required.

also I was given another command for you to try.....

    Start> Run> type.. services.msc

double click plug & play, configuration manager message click ok,
startup type list click automatic, close and restart and see if it is there.

    hello iant.i

I have typed in Run " SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" command but no result,it didn`t ask for Windows XP installation CD and just nothing happened...

The same result with services.msc command, when I type it doesn`t happen anything:(

I still can not access neither device manager, not the most programs from control panel, like "add/remove programs", "administrative tools","system", "Sound and audio devices" and so on...I get error that "Windows cannot find the file"

    Hi elli,
I think the only way forward for you now is to get a copy of your OS,it will have to be the exact version that you have installed i.e xp home / basic /pro, and do a windows repair install, where it will recover windows but not affect any of your programs/data and files, though I would still back up any personal data to cd/dvd or flash drive, just to be safe ;).
I see you are still going through the malware removal process with Kestrel, keep at it as this may help in resolving the issues you are experiencing.
Post back here when you get the all clear from Kestrel and we will try running through the fixes again as it could well be that you have an infection that is no allowing the fixes to work.

Ok elli thanks for getting back and keeping me updated ;), if you encounter any issues with your machine please create a new thread in the related forum, and the guys and girls on here will be more than willing to assist in trying to resolve them.
I hope that the re-install of windows goes well and everything works as it should do, there is a very good tutorial on how to re-install your OS here...

Hey elli just thought .... do you own a copy of your OS (xp pro), or did the person who installed it not give you a copy of it, please let me know as I could be of some help in that department. Do you have the windows key sticker on the machine.....

    http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5815/windowskey.jpg

check to make sure it is for XP Professional, as you will need this key to activate your windows license, if it is not for XP pro then you will need to find an OS disc for the version that the key is for.

No iain.t I don`t have any copy of my OS,he didn`t give me any disc, but I have some other disc of XP3 ,is it possible to reinstall just some parts of windows from that disc which can fix the sound problem?:cry

I don`t know what it is suppose I have not got this sticker:]

    Hi elli,
I don't think your freind who installed and programed your machine has used ligitimit software, I would not let him any where near one of your machines ever again :cry, the other XP sp3 disc you have do you still have the product key for that ??? or do you still have the machine that that OS was initially installed on?? as the product key sticker will be on that, if so and you don't use that machine then you can transfer the OS to the machine that needs the new install. IF not then use this tool to find the product key ........

    http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/

download the free version this will show your product activation key, write this down (exactly as it is shown), now type it into google search and see if it comes up as an illegal key, if it doesn't then I can offer some more assistance in re-installing XP Pro sp3 ;).
Post back here with the results and then we will take it from there ok
