Problem With Sharing Files Between Computers...

I had this working fine up untill a couple of days ago and I don't know what has happened to the settings to make this happen.

I right mouse click on a folder that I want to share between my computer and my laptop and select 'Sharing & Security' I can then see the folder on my other computer, but I can't open it. This message comes up...

Of course it looks like it's a problem with the permissions. But what?

Now, like I said, it was working up until a few days back so I can't figure out what might of changed?! :?

A couple of other points about this:

It's the same in both directions. Ie Computer to Laptop & Laptop to Computer.

Strangely - If you look at the picture again, you'll notice a folder called 'Shared Docs' (which is a default folder) If I drop anything in there, I can access it in the other computer.

Both Computers are running XP pro With SP2 installed (and up-to-date Updates)

I can access the internet perfectly ok on the laptop (wirelessly) So I know there is nothing wrong with the wireess connection.

Check the SP2 firewall and make sure its either off or allowing the proper ports.

 

check the shared folder permisions on the client computer and set it accessible to all
