problem with sound card on soyo MoBo

Hello,
I recently purchased a soyo kt600 dragon plus 1.0 for a Digital Audio Workstation.
Specs:
athlon xp 2800 barton core 333 fsb
512 mb ddr 3200
sata 2x 80gb 7200rpm; RAID0
Aardvark LX6 sound card
The computer boots up just find with the LX6 installed but when i install the drivers and reboot to the computer it gets to the desktop and locks up. I tried to switch PCI slots 3x but to no avail. Then i started messing around with the settings in the bios which yielded no positive results. Everytime the winxp boots up it chks the filesystem and finds a problem but regardless of whether i let it fix the problem or continue on the system still locks up. I put another sound card(sound blaster cheapo) in one of the pci slots and it works just fine. I also put the LX6 into another computer and it functioned just fine. What could be causing this problem? I thought it was the sound card the was not working properly but it works just fine on the other comp. Would specifying the IRQ do anything? If not any other ideas?
