    Greetings!

I unfortunately made the mistake of installing Iobit, and after many attempts to remove it from my computer it still pops up after boot [See attached image]. It also appears when I right click showing “defrag by smart degrag” in the menu, and when I search "Iobit" in Windows Explorer. The message in the attached jpeg says in order to fix the problem I need to re install Iobit Advanced System Care, which would be counter intuitive. I ran malware bites, hitman pro, cc cleaner, and tweaking just to make sure, I know Iobit is popular here, any help in completely removing Iobit would be most appreciated.

    Thanks. Bart

Try using Revo Uninstaller to remove it. You'll probably need to restart the computer to complete the removal.

As mdonah said, Revo would probably be your best option and *should* clean it out.
Try with Revo *first*, the solution below should only be tried if the Revo does not fix it!

If that fails, I would recommend using AutoRuns

With AutoRuns you can take a look around and disable any associated entrys for it. Use caution when removing items, just because it may look weird, sometimes it is legit and used by the OS ;)

For now, just look around for any references to IOBit/Smart Defrag and simply uncheck them, reboot the PC.

Take extra attention to the following sections regarding your symptoms -

    Startup (Run)
    Scheduled Tasks
    Services
    Contextual Shell Handler
    Browser Helper Objects
    Explorer Hooks

Feel free to ask if you are curious of any items in there

Thanks! Revo worked like a charm.

I had a similar issue getting rid of Iobit ASC but ironically Iobit Uninstaller did the job a treat :-D
