Problem with Windows Live Messenger

Hi, I didn't know where else to post this.

I'm new to this website. So, hello to everyone.

Alright, my question is about Windows Live Messenger.

Around 3 months ago, I installed something called "WLM Offline Installer" that I found through a website that provides offline installers. In the end, it turned out to be faulty, and did not load at all when I clicked on 'Setup'. I'd just like to add; I only wanted the offline installer because I did not want the other bundled junk that comes with the Windows Live Messenger from the original download website.

Upon downloading Windows Live Messenger from msn.com or microsoft.com, I encountered a problem when running the installer. It said 'Messenger already installed', or something along those lines.

My first reaction was to find any trace of Windows Live Messenger through the Registry and delete it. Still, this did not fix the problem.

I've tried everything, from programs to eliminate traces of Windows Live Messenger, and any procedures recommended on the microsoft help section.

So, I ended up here as a last resort, if you guys have any idea what the problem may be, I'd appreciate any information you have.

 

if you have a look in add and remove programs for windows live essentials and remove this program. clean up with ccleaner the registry clean option then try and reinstall windows live.hope this helps,good luck
