    Hello,

I have an Inspiron 600m that came with XP Home installed. I am attempting to reformat with XP Pro. After install but before the setup wizard that allows checking for updates, I'm getting a blue screen with a stop error: invalid_work_queue_setup.

I've googled the error message and the problem is that my XP Pro CD does not include SP2. My son made a slipstreamed CD that contains XP Pro and SP2, but now I cannot get the computer to accept the boot from CD command in the BIOS menu.

Thank you in advance for any helpful advice/suggestions.

Does your XP Home already have SP2 installed?

Unless Im misunderstanding your intentions, your Home CD key cannot be used with XP pro.

This is the guide my son used to burn the sllipstreamed CD. He got an error message about the file names being too long . . . 8 characters max. I got a hint from another forum to change one of the settings on the new CD properties. I've burned a new CD, but I still cannot get the computer to boot from the CD drive.

No I am not using my XP Home CD key. I have an XP Pro CD, but that CD has not SP2 on it.

XP Home Installation CD has SP2 on it but XP Pro Upgrade CD does not have SP2 on it? Can you uninstall SP2 through Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel from the Home Edition? You can download and install it again after upgrade to XP Pro (w/o SP2), no muss, no fuss (unless you use dial up). Back up your system beforehand to a separate partition or external drive if you can. Start, Run, ntbackup. If it isn't installed the installer (.msi ) is on your Home Edition CD in the VALUEADD/MSFT/NTBACKUP folder. A Copy backup of Local Disk C: and System State and a Verify data should be sufficient.
