Most all web pages now take much longer to load since I installed the latest MS Security Update Hotfix-KB893066, yesterday. My monitor screen also flickers from time to time..... it's all very annoying!

While trying to find out if there are issues with this Hotfix, I found the below link,

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=893066

Sadly, I know too little to know whether or not this is what is really causing my current difficulties. My PC is new with SP-2, all updates, using broadband 100.0 Mbps.

I would be grateful if anyone could guide me here. Is anyone else having these problems?

Very sorry about the link, first post here and am not sure how to use the tools.

Yes, that is the correct link but to be more specific I would like to know if the reference to 890345 in the article could be the reason that my page loads are now slower and my screen flickers every few minutes. I am looking for a fix and am wondering if I need to edit my registry as per the 890345 reference. If so, gawd help me!

Thank you for the quick reply!

You must backup your registry value before you try it.

Thanks for the reply kadavill but I am not ready to go there yet. I think that it's important for me to determine if the MS Security Update caused my problems. The KB article cautioned about "network degradation" and I don't know if that translates to slow loading web pages or not. My system is new and lean so I don't understand the sudden change. It seems to me that if MS already has a KB article about issues with the recent Update it may be my problem. I am here to find out.

You should try it only if you are sure.
But will there be a problem in trying out the registry edit, because you will
be able to click the .reg file and get back your present settings from the backup?

I understand kadevill, but will get to regedit only if I have to!

Do you have any comments about my problem?
