Problems after installing IE7

I have searched the forum for issues with IE7 and have found none like mine, so here goes. I installed IE7 on my laptop (the microsoft update), and immediately experienced the following problems. It kept trying to install Corel Photo Album. I managed to succesfully uninstall Corel Photo Album (after about 20 trys - it keeps locking up), but now it is trying to install Windows Word Perfect Office 12! Also, it will not connect to my network unless I allow it to run something called Generic Host Process for Win32 Services, (EZ firewallasks for a prompt). One more thing, on my pc I noticed that the ISP it is trying to connect to is being blocked by the firwall on my pc.

I uninstalled IE7, and am now running IE6, but keep experiencing the same problems.

I ran virus scan, ad-aware, crap cleaner, and spybot,and everything seems to be clean.

I have no idea what to do next.

 

Unblock that service from your firewall. Your firewall is breaking your inet connection, not IE.

Your installation of Corel Wordperfect suite or w/e it is, is corrupted. You will need to remove all of it, and then reinstall it if you want to use it again.

Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove corel from your registry.

BE CAREFUL!

This utility allows you remove a lot of crap your normally cannot, and you could end up breaking something if you remove something Windows needs. Comncentrate on removing Corel stuff.
