problems after updating bios

recently i update my bios and for some reason lost use of at least the microphone portion of my sound driver. i was/am able to play all sounds in things like itunes, but unable to connect to team speak and other such things. before i go any further i will describe my computers parts:
amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 5200+ 2.70 ghz, 4gb g.skill ddr2 800 ram, a7gm-s foxconn motherboard, and a gforce 19500 gt(etc).

after i realized this i tried to perform a system restore for the day before were i was sure all parts of my computer worked.
however, after that, the only way i could get my computer to even reach the desktop was to go into the safe mode options and selecting best knows previous settings. otherwise the computer would fail before reaching the desktop, including in safe mode. which only got me back to using everything as it was before the system restore.
however on top of all that, all attempts such as restoring the best past settings all seem to get wiped away after i restart. the computer will infinitely restart itself after the same point, even when you tell it to disable the automatic restart upon system failure.

as of this moment i am try to get some audio driver to help maybe, but i dont really know what to do about this one(short of a reinstall of windows, which i only have a upgrade dvd). also, as a final note, the program that i used to get the bios updates was live update from foxconn(i hadnt had any problems with it till now).
but those bios updates are all i can think of that had changed since the last time i had full use of my computer.(internet also seems as though it might have slowed some)

also, teamspeak said that "tdsoundin.open: no sound driver is available for use".

i am going to google it, but my luck with computers is prty crappy which is what got me here.

 

thank you for the response, however the problem is more than just teamspeak. as it is not just that program that is having issues, it is also things like windows voice recognition as well. everything that i have tried to look at my mic install and connection through tells me that there is a sound driver problem. however i can hear sound, just not make it i guess.
of course this is only once i am in windows, otherwise, restarting my computer for a normal boot up only results in a restart before i even get on the desktop.it shows a black screen with your cursor on it(screen before it shows the vista orb light up). it seems updating bios with foxconn's live update messed up my sound somehow and then system restore ruined my computer.
as i said the only way i am accessing my computer is through the safe mode advanced options, using the last know good settings. otherwise i cant even get into safe mode, actually that is to say i haven't gotten into safe mode since this problem started.

i am not sure if i need to move to a different area of support but there seems to be a deeper internal problem than just the non responsiveness of teamspeak. thanks again.

 

may have fixed the problem, i hope. cause foxconn and microsoft are useless.
