    wow ... isn't this a surprise ...

First off, I had to re-configure my internet conection after the install.

Now, so I'm finding, my FF Browser is moving incredibly slow (that is - if it even opens AT ALL!). I'm sending this post via IE7 - which is what I have mostly been forced to use, since the SP3 install.

Anyone know of any help available for this problem?

    Thanks ...

maybe you may have to do a complete re-install of Firefox i have read of heaps of people that have troubles after the sp3 upgrade i must have been one of the lucky few not one ounce of trouble i did have problems with Firefox after upgrading to AVG8.0 though took for ever for it to load amongst other things

    Thanks for the reply.

I agree, and an uninstall/reinstall of FF is what I'll do (this evening when I have more time).

I started to post back last evening after switching FROM AVG (free) 8.0 (which I've had "issues" with now on two different Dell's - one running XP and the other running Vista) to Avast (free) AV as it seemed (last night) to straighten-out the slow/no load of FF ... but this morning it's the same thing WITH Avast - very slow loading (or NO loading?) of FF, and once again, I'm posting this reply via IE7.

I'll post back this evening after ... ooops, I won't be back on this PC for a couple of days (have to go out of town) ... will post back as soon as I am able to try something else.

    Hi

Also try some normal cleaning routines, like using CCleaner and its Cleaner and Registry tools to remove all temps and old reg keys.

Also incase their are any corrupted DNS entries in yoru cache flush the DNScache, open a CMD window and type ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter ( in Vista you will have to run the CMD window in admn mode so click Start and in the Start Search box type cmd and when it shows in the search list, right click it and choose "run as administrator" )

its such a shame avg has gone in the direction it has i have used there program for a long time just going on the net with out it felt like i was missing something important just me i am very obsessive when it comes to security i have heard that avast is a bit of a resource hog also. i went with avira and all seems fine at the moment but like i am running a computer that comes straight from king tuts tomb compared with whats available these days.when i uninstalled FF i made sure i deleted everything from the programs files and went through documents and settings as well then ran ccleaner and just to make sure i ran regseeker it seems to pick up what ccleaner doesn't good luck with avast
