Look inside the programs GUI and look for update features. Check the product's homepage as well, - FAQs, system requirements, support pages, forums etc. Also visit the homepage of your computer manufacturer and update all drivers.

    What DVD player/burner is it?

Well, you're certainly not alone. A search for "out of sync" in DVD Flick's forum alone returns almost 6.000 hits...

I used DVD Flick for a long time without many issues; occasionally I would have a slight sync problem but it was usually due to a poorly encoded source file. Have you tried playing the DVDs on a regular home DVD player or on your PC? You can also try a different DVD encoding program; FAVC is good and it's free, AVI2DVD is another free one I've used. I haven't used any of these in a quite some time since I started using WinAVI and ConvertX. You can also try just using DVD Flick to convert the video, but do the burning part with a different program like Nero or one of the free burning apps here at MG (links below). I always burn DVD movies at 8x or slower (usually 4x if I'm I have time). I've found the slower burns to be of better quality with less pixelating and fewer sync issues. If you're changing any of the DVD Flick default settings, that may be causing the problem too. Unless you're very familiar with setting bit rates and video/audio encoding in general, it's best to use the default DVD Flick settings; the few times I tried to play with the settings in DVD Flick ended up with poor results, so I just used the defaults and had very few bad burns. I hope this doesn't confuse more than it helps! Good luck! Keep us posted....

(if you're seriously into converting/burning movie files, you should seriously consider shelling out some $$$ for a commercial converting program; I got by with DVD Flick and other freeware for about a year, but once I bought WinAVI and ConvertX, the freeware was removed and I haven't looked back!)

Oh yeah... I meant to comment on this:
Very true, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's an issue unique to DVD Flick. If you go to any video conversion forum, you'll find lots of people with sync problems.... it's a common problem with all converting software. Like I said above, it is commonly caused by poorly encoded source files; one bad frame or a variable bit rate can cause problems. Using older codecs or specialized codecs can also be problematic. And something as simple as using your PC while converting can also cause problems. It's best, when converting any media files (but especially video) to not use the PC at all. Even having the screen saver turned off is a good idea. Don't surf, don't game, just let it encode while you go watch TV or have a pizza or something....
