problems getting comodo firewall pro to run

i recently made up a new computer and am now trying to get all my programs back. comodo is one of them, i downloaded and installed the newest version from the site. however, the only thing that shows up my my system tray and task manager is the safe serf program. not the "cfp.exe" or whatever it was. i cant find any record of them installing it like i asked during the install. i was going to try and uninstall the safe serf or whatever comodo files i could find, and perform a install of only the firewall. however i couldnt find anything to uninstall.rolleyes
before i noticed that the firewall wasnt showing up i decided to disable windows firewall. it did not give me a warning that ther wasnt a firewall up so i asumed i was just having trouble with the icon not showing in the tray, but i dont know what it actualy is. i searched for topics on anything like this, but only found people's other problems and saying that the 3.0 was a bad update that might have killed the program.
does anyone know what might have caused this for me? or if there is a earlier version that still works that i could use? i really like the past version i used and had become acustom to it.:cry

my apologies, i am running windows xp home. although this new computer has a 64 compatible cpu i belive the os is 32.
i downloaded "CIS_Setup_3.5.57173.439_XP_Vista_x32" and installed using the third install method, the leak/best protection one. i also tried to install just the firewall afterwords. i have still yet to see a icon or even a folder in the comodo directory for the firewall. only COMODO Internet Security, and SafeSurf.
also, whatever programs and settings were installed, something has stopped connection to a few programs. mostly updates, for programs like warhammer online, and advanced care 3.

 

strangley enough, i had just been trying to get rid of safesurf again and it happened to show up this time under add/remove programs. so i actualy was able to uninstall it through that. i did download and check using that revo uninstaller program to be sure. i allready had ccleaner so i ran that as instructed and then reinstalled.
i finally got the firewall to run, since it actualy asked me to restart after installing this time. however i opted to not install safesurf this time around since that may have been some part of what was causing my issues. especialy with some programs updating. i am not sure if safesurf was actualy part of that problem, but with my luck i am not sure i want to jinx it since it seems everything is working ok now.

thank you for the advice and the program, in the least i can now be sure i can get rid of any pesky program in the future as well. hopefully i was a little more clear this time around(A.D.D. doesnt help typing i guess, or speech for that matterrolleyes....darn lol).
