    Hi software-specialist :cool,

After having a blue screen about a week ago i posted on this forum at the malware section. TimW en Kestrel13! helped me to solve my problems. After various trials they both concluded it is not a malware related problem and they advice me to try it at the software-section.

    For details about this thread:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1866791

    My problems are:
    - unable to install programs (e.g. (1) NOD32; error of malware on the system, (2) OTM.exe; gives error like "class not registred")
    - system sounds do work, but sounds in applications like chrome or counterstrike do not work
    - internet explorer crashes when started up
    - after the laptop is started up the programs (1) solution menu (of my printer) and ControlDeck are crashing / noting that it is not correct installed.
    - I can not download or upload anything in my webbrowsers (chrome/firefox) from this laptop.

Hopefully you can help me sort this out.

    Thanks.

    Tom

Do you have NOD32 downloaded? Win 7 comes with Windows Defender is it on or off?

Open CCleaner and click on Tools in the left pane. Then click on the Startup button. At the bottom right is a button "Save to text file". Click that and paste that txt file as an attachment in your next post.
Some of those errors for printer and ControlDeck might be eliminated simply by not letting those start at startup. Too many things happen at startup so you want fewer unnecessary things to load then.

    We don't want guesses.
Control Panel then over near the top right you'll see View by. Choose either Large Icons or Small icons. Click on the Windows Defender icon. What does the popup say?

It will take me a while to study your startup because there are a lot of items.
I assume Nee means NO and Ja means Yes.

    Here is the report:

    1. TomTomHome.exe - turn off go into services(Control Panel, Administrative Tools) and set from Automatic to Manual. You might have to keep doing this because from reading, it appears TomTom keeps changing it to automatically start.

    2. Adobe ARM - turn off http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/AdobeARM.exe-25493.html

3, Adobe Reader Speed Launcher - turn off http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/reader_sl.exe-175.html

    4. ApsDaemon - your call as to off or on; read this http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/reader_sl.exe-175.html

    5. ATKMedia - turn off http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/DMedia.exe-27027.html

    6. ATK0SD2 unable to find anything on this

    7. BCSSync - your call; read this http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/BCSSync.exe-25669.html

    8. Canon Solutions Menu Ex can be turned off http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/CNSEMAIN.EXE-27007.html
you can access the menu from the Programs so you don't need to waste resources running this at startup.

    9. HControlUser - keep

    10. iTunesHelper - keep

    11. MSC Security Center - keep

    12. Start CCC - turn off http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/CLIStart.exe-19070.html
You probably have something in Control Panel if you want to change settings.

    13. Sun Java Update Schedule - you can check for updates yourself. If you don't trust yourself to remember, then keep it going at startup.

    14. Dropbox lnk I can't find anything useful as to whether it is needed or can be removed so let it alone.

    Thanks for letting us know.

If you have a Windows disk, you could have tried to repair your Windows install.
