I already have a SATA drive as my main drive. I just installed an IDE, put the jumper on CS (cable switch), the bios recognizes the drive. In windows, a new drive is added. The first time I tried formatting it, at the end of the format, it stopped and told me windows can not complete the format, and the blue screen appears. I tried formatting again, but on quick format, and it said the same thing. Tried with safe mode, and same thing, except it doesn't go blue.

    what's the matter?

    Blue Screen? Error messages?

Instead of CS try Master or Slave, check cables.

Run the HDD manufactures Free Diagnostic utility.
