Ok, I try to install, and 97% of the way through I get this error:
    Component: Data files
    File group: Data files
    File: E:\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

This happens at 97% on C:\...\splash\splash-kwamawarrior.tga

I'm using a compaq5000/256RAM/1.2MHz proc/22.7GIGs left on HD/a chair to sit in/a nagging wife (heehee)

Is there any other info you need?

    Thanks in advance. :D

Yeah prolly scratched or a dying CDrom drive. Ya might try copying all the files to the harddrive in a folder and install from them and delete them after ya install. Donno if morrowind will run as fast as you like i have a 1.65 Athlon and a 5600xt 128mb video card and i get ~20fps....and the water whill prolly lag ya down a good bit .............

    hmmm

Ok, it *was* the CD, but after I get it installed, it won't run because I don't have true color-32 bit. So, I go out and buy a Radeon 9200 (agp), and have no idea how to disable the on-board graphics thingy (yeah, I said "thingy"), I also couldn't find a listing for an AGP controller in system devices. I would also like to add: ARRRRG! :D

what is the make/model of your motherboard this can help us to help you use your new card

but generally there should be an option in the bios to disable onboard vga

    Bios?

Not sure what the BIOS is, or the make and model of mom. However, I *did* figure it out, and now I can play my game! WoooHooo! I get a promotion for this, right? ;)

    Hi

Please start a new thread on this and as you have cleaned the CD already have you tried the other steps as in updating your graphic card drivers etc.

Also tell us what Windows Version and Service Pack your using?

What your computer specs are ( CPU, RAM and Graphic Card ) and make of PC, be that DELL, HP etc include model number, if you dont know these install and run this free app EVEREST and click Computer > Summary and all the info will be there.

If you get any error messages trying to install Morrowind what are they and please to even if same as the original posters above, pop them in your new thread.

A new thread tends to get many more people viewing over ones from near 4yrs ago.

    Many thanks
