Problems installing X-fi XtremeMusic..HELP!

    So i had to format my computer... When i went to reinstall my X-Fi XtremeMusic i get this msg..


    Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system.

    Please ensure that your Sound Blaster Hardware is properly installed before running this setup program.

    Setup will now exit.



    Im running Windows Xp Home SP2


    Device Manger says its working fine, but i cant install the drivers from the CD..Anyone know the problem?

    Im having this same problem. What kind of mobo are you useing? also a minor fix although crummy one is download the drivers from creatives site they work around the hardware search. You wont have full functions but sound will work.

    This is a hudge problem as im sure you know if you have been over to the creative forums.

    is it an interanl pci card? if so, have you tried taking it out (of course disconnect power), and reinstalling, maybe to a different slot? or take it out, boot up comp, power down, reinstall card, and boot up comp?
