problems rebooting and freeze ups

I have been going crazy with this for a few months. I am almost to reboot coz a lot of time I get the blue scrren of death. The page says windows had a problem I am given a choice of restarting in safe mode, most recent settings that worked or open windows normally. I try and try. This morning it took me 3 hours to reboot. I unhooked the printer. Also, this thing freezes up a lot. I have spyware and antivirus software. Can anyone direct me to some help. I am new here. Thanks

even tho you have running AS & AV youre pc is not 100% healthy when it comes to malicious software
