I have an x4530 Lexmark wireless all-in-one printer. I can print wirelessly and make copies without problems, but when I press the "scan" button, I get an error message: "Cannot retrieve application list." Does anyone know what could be causing this?

With my lexmarks I have to open up a web browser and go to the IP of the pirnter to be able to scan, I also have to set up a profile and select what type of software will accept the scanned images, see if this is true for yours.

Thanks so much for your response! How do I find out what the printer's IP is and set up a profile? I'm new to wireless accesories.

Try to find a setting on the printer or print a test page it should say it on there

Ok, I've got the IP and opened it in a browser, but I still get the same error message.... how should I go about setting up the profile you mentioned?

Thanks for the link. That was the first thing I tried, but it didn't help. I've also chatted with 4 Lexmark techs, who conveniently gave me various "solutions" that required restarting my computer... thus ending the chat.

The profile is made by clicking on a "Scan" link and then a java window opens up and then you go through a wizard.

I feel pretty dense right now... where would the "scan" link be? I've tried to click the scan button on the Lexmark Imaging Studio, but it tells me to use the button on the printer.

It should be from the website that came up when you put the IP in a web browser.

I don't know if it will be there, but its on the left side of the screen on mine.

I don't see that. Here's a screen shot of what I get on the main page. I've also explored the links on the left, but I've not seen anything like what you describe.

Sorry to double-post, but I'm hoping someone has a solution for this.... any other ideas?
