I have a Zhone ADSL2+ 4-Port WiFi Annex model # 6218-I2-200-0CC on my main computer along with my Vonage adapter connected following the vonage instructions. Internet works on my main computer. I just bought a laptop and was wanting to set up a wireless home network to get the laptop and my Wii online but I cannot seem to get it working. I tried to do the wizard but when it searches for other devices it doesn't find the laptop or Wii. When I try to seach for a connection on my laptop it only sees one that I guess is my neighbors because I don't recognize the network name and I cannot connect to it. At one point I tried to set up an ad hoc network and I got the 2 computers connected but the laptop considered it an unidentified connection and so I still had no internet access.

Main computer is running Vista Home Premium and the laptop is running Windows 7. I am not experienced at creating home networks so any advice is appreciated.

    TIA

    UPDATE:

Okay, I disconnected the vonage adapter and then was able to set up the wireless network for my laptop and I am trying to set up my Wii as well. Right now the Wii has been testing the connection for about 5 mins (does it usually take so long??). After I get it set up I will reconnect the Vonage. I think the problem was that I had set everything up like the Vonage instructions had specified and it wasn't working that way because I don't have a plain modem, I have a 3 in 1 (modem, router and wireless) and I needed to have the Vonage adapter plugged into the back of it, not the other way around. Once I disconnect the Vonage the wizard stopped trying to take me to the Vonage router page and I was able to access the Zhone router page and enable the wireless capability from there, taking note of the SSID, etc

I will update if I am unable to connect the Wii. As of right now it is still trying to test the connection.

Well, I reset the Wii and then tried again and this time it completed the connection test within 1 minute and right now it is updating itself. I am sitting on the couch typing this on my laptop which is also connected successfully, yay! I plan on watching some Netflix movies through my Wii tonight with my daughter tonight. She is an 8 yr old computer/internet addict like myself (gee, wonder where she got that from? lol) she will be so happy to come home today to find I have figured this wireless networking out! :-D

Now, one other question: I have this network set to private - but how do I make sure it is secure? What settings to I need to check on and configure?

    TIA
