problems uninstalling snmp network windows xp

Hello forum Hopefully i can get some advice from the guru's here.

I got myself in a little jam hopefully something that can be solved without me having to do any reformatting of my HD.

To start it off i had enable snmp a quite while back, so i decided yesterday i wanted to remove the function since i have no need for it anymore.

I did a couple of hiccups before i figured out the right way of removing first time i tried removing it i had unchecked all the boxes from windows component in the add/remove section .

So i did a system restore to bring back the missing components.

Finally i googled how to uninstall snmp so i went ahead went back into windows components wizard and unchecked the box for management and monitoring tools a pop up comes on to the screen seems like it's uninstalling while in the process of doing so another pop up comes up asking me to insert my windows xp pro cd so i did and upon doing so the cd is running but nothing happens it just hangs for about 30 min and then another pop up comes up asking to insert the cd again that it needs files from the i386 folder so i went ahead pressed ok and it stays hanging for another 30-40 min and does nothing the same popup comes back up asking to insert the cd again so i went ahead and did and still nothing snmp is still installed in my pc.

I even went into services to stop snmp from running and no luck? Is there any way we can bruteforce this out of my system?
