I seem to be having a problem in updating Office 365. When I open an Office program, e.g. Word, I receive a message saying Office requires updating (cf. Image01) and I click on “Update now” (cf. Image01). I then receive a message that says, “Downloading Office updates …” (cf. Image02). Then a message comes up that says, “Office updates are available” (cf. Image03) and I click on “Yes” (cf. Image03). Afterwards nothing apparently happens. The next time I open an Office program I am informed updates are available for Office. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi

Weird one as not had issues as yet with Office 365.
Have your tried to repair Office? go into add/remove and click Office 365 > Modify > Repair and reboot once finished then try the update again, by going to in any Office app to file > Account > Office update.

Do you have any older Office apps on your PC installed?
Is this a laptop or desktop PC? as one thing I have read is that on some PCs the data is set to metred connection, turn this off and all is ok, its in if Win10 in Settings > Uoate & Security > Advanced and turn off Automatically download updates even on meteed connection then reboot and try, No idea why this would be an issue but worked for some.

    Hi

No, but I will certainly be giving this a try.

No, before I got Office 365 I used an app from Microsoft to clean out any older versions plus afterwards did a Registry clean with CCleaner. I should only have Office 365.

    A desktop.

I do have it set to a metered connection simply so that Win10 doesn't update when it suits itself. I'll temporarily turn it off whilst trying to update Office 365.

    Thanks!

I did the quick repair of Office, but that did not solve my problem.

I then tried the online repair, which appears to have solved my problem.

I have not tried the unmetered connection option because I have not needed to.

    Thank you for the help.
