Hi, I have a hp pavilion a302x desk top computer that keeps freezing up on me. I'm assuming this is a hardware problem because it happened shortly after i tried to organize the inside of my computer to reduce heat. I made sure everything was put back properly and connected correctly and everything worked fine for a while.

However shortly after that my computer began having problems. 90% of the time when I try to boot it up it will freeze before I even get to the log in screen, but the longer I leave it off before I try again the longer it lasts until it freezes again. Which made me think the problem is it is over heating. I did remove one of the fans kind of on accident but i put it back and it seems to be okay. If anyone has any suggestions of what I should try it would be greatly appreciated.

The computer was up to date with everything software wise and I made no changes to the hardware from when I bought it, so all the components are the default ones that come with it. If anymore information is needed I'll do what I can to get you that information. Thanks a lot in advance!

Okay, I'll do that and get back to you with the results. Thank you!

Okay well I followed the steps and this was what it came down to...

"If the LED is on solid and is not flashing, the power supply is probably good and the problem is most likely caused by a defective component (processor, memory, PCI card) or a defective motherboard. Have the computer serviced, or remove the components and replace them, one at a time, to find and replace the defective component."

So from here it is pretty much a shot in the dark at what it could be and I would have to just guess at what to replace and get lucky?

If so, with my luck I might be better off just upgrading to a new computer.

Any suggestions of what I should do from here?
