problems with folder n windows xp

everytime when i double click the folder in xp to open.it will open search instead.can only right-click>open.all folders are with the same problems.please help.thanks a lot.

 

Can you expand on That? Do you mean "double click" you browser?

What's the name of the search that opens?

 

i mean double click on any folders and it open up xp search box instead of the folder.

Your post is still confusing to some degree. Are you the only user of this computer and do you or your profile have administrator rights? I'm asking this because I was asked to look at a work computer for much the same problem. Someone had played with it today and set an admin. password.

Do your desktop shortcut icons work?

 

i'am the only user and have administrator rights.desktop icons works fine but not the folders.i did not set any password btw.

but i have another minor problem hope u guys can help me.my system32 folder is hidden and i can't uncheck hidden box because it's grey out.i have previously choosen to hide some folders but not system32 folder.it just set to hidden by itself.any solutions?thank you!
