Problems with HTML in IE and Firefox

Hey guys,
I'm only new here and I hope this problem isn't too basic for anyone.

I have programmed a website in HTML with some Flash inserts. I have set a particular colour theme to it, which is based around the hex code #FA7202 (a shade of orange). As part of the design I have set the background colours of the Flash text and movies to match this colour.

In Firefox all is correct - all the colours match. However in IE, the background image is shown darker than in Firefox (which is acceptable) but ALL the Flash background colours show up lighter (making little boxes around the inserts). I have used Pixie colour checker to check the colurs in each browser and IE shows the background as being #F96601, Flash bg's as #FA7202.

If I reset the Flash bg's to this code it shows fine in IE but the boxes now appear in Firefox. (obviously a code mismatch). Why, when they are all THE SAME CODE do they not match in IE??

How can I get the colours to match?

I thought that if ALL the colours were the same #code, they would show up as THE SAME in one browser (even if this looked a different colour to another browser). I just want them ALL the same in any one browser.

Is this a problem between IE's hex codes and Flash's ??

Any help would be appreciated.

Surprising, considering the number of "geeks" out there.

 

I've only seen this issue referenced with older versions of flash. I'm not a flash person by any means as are many of the members here. Just because we are geeks doesn't mean we're media developers
