Hi, my friend is having probs with her machine, as in it frequently won't close down. Other things happen, but since it is not my machine, I am not sure if it is operator error or the machine itself.
I have attached the logs as requested.
    TIA for any help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Since your logs are clean, I don't think this has anything to do with malware so you really should post in the Software Forum for help with Windows 10. However if I had to guess I would suspect it may be due to have fast startup enabled. If it is enabled, Windows has to save a lot of information before shutting down so that your startup is faster. You can try the below if you wish but just be aware that this will now increase startup time. :)

    Disable Fast Startup

    1. Press Windows key + R
    2. Type powercfg.cpl and press enter
    3. Click on "choose what the power buttons does" on the left pane.
    4. Click on "change settings that are currently unavailable"
    5. Uncheck "turn on fast startup"
    6. Click "save changes"

    Thanks for the swift reply.
I will look into the Fast startup situation, although I checked mine and it is enabled, but I have had no trouble, and it is a Toshiba same as my friends.
Do I just uninstall the programs I downloaded now?

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 or 10, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
