Well i guess ill get out of the obvious ... no its not my video card, ram, processor, or any hardware related issues

Reason I know that because I can play games fine but when i try and play a video on windows media player and on netflixs video player my pc goes in slow motion, EXTREMELY SLOW. If i do the netflix all i have to do is exit my browser (msn) and its fine. If i play a video in windows media player I have to restart or log off to get rid of it.

Now when i go to restart after ive done the windows media player option ... a dialog box comes up telling me that a MEDIA EVENT SINK is not responding ... so im guessing that might be the problem

p4 2.53 1024 ram 6600gt geforce ... like i said its not hardware related .. and like i said before i can play games with video just fine ex. half life 2, star wars galaxies, farcry etc.

    thanx in advance

I have a problem like you when I update Windows media Player to V10. I think I look for new softs like WinDVD, PowerDVD, direct DVD,.... it is better now.

Not saying it definitely is one way or another, but just because hardware acts appropriately with some jobs, doesn't mean it will act appropriately for others.

First thing I'd suggest, and I'm not sure if you've done this or not, but try uninstalling and reinstalling the softwares you have had problems with.

Second, is this a recent problem, and if so have you installed any new software/hardware recently?

If you could pinpoint when this began and what if anything you had done to your pc shortly before, maybe I could help, but definitely need more info homefry.

yes it's recent ... i think it just started yesterday ...

never had this problem b4 ... 1st time

i tried uninstalling media player and reinstalled - nothing

and like i said its not just media player ... its really ne time i play video, i come up with that because when i try n preview movies on netflix for instance it slows down

I cant really say much more ... when i try n shut down it gives me that media event sink not responding

all i know my i play video my comp is using 100% resources and is slow as sh*t
