    Hello,

Well, let me explain my problem. I live in Denmark in Europe and have a 2048/256 connection provided by a ISP called TDC (Tele Denmark). Alright, im a hardcore online gamer, so i was satisfied with my connection. But then one day all of a sudden, i started having lag in my game called 'America´s Army', when i was playing on servers based in England. Now, Denmark isnt more than approximately 900 kilometers from England, so i shouldnt be experiencing the lag i did. My ping was around 40 - 90ms on the english servers before i started having problems. Now it's around 250ms. This issue started pissing me off since i couldnt play as well with the huge amount of lag, so i did a traceroute to more servers with the usual IP those servers in England had (213.228.xxx.xxx). I found out that the reason for the lag, was because my connection took a little trip to some servers in new york, USA before it finally connected to the english server. This gives me the ping i mentioned earlier, 250. I called my ISP and asked them what was going on and when they were gonna do something about it, but the only answer i got was "Sorry, we dont give support to ping-times." Or something like that, basically they didnt want to do anything to correct this. I talked to others who had this ISP, and they had the same problem, I even traced some 213.228.xxx.xxx servers from their computers, and they really had this problem too. If i could change ISP, trust me i would already have done so, but as it is now, i cant. :(
Ok, all i wanted was to hear if somebody know any solution to this ? As I see it, i cant do much about it myself. But i was thinking that maybe someone knew a little program or something that could "re-route" the connection so it doesnt go through new york first ?
    Any help appreciated.

    Hey X-Raider

As far as i know about networking, sometimes theres nothing you can do about it.
If there is a problem in the connection from Denemark to the Uk,
and now it has to go through NY, then there is now porgram that can change that.
I play poker online, and sometimes, the lag is you huge, but there is nothing you can do,
    beside maybe select another server...

It's like traffic, sometimes you get stuck in traffic jam

Yeah i thought so, i have started playing on 69. IP-servers, which are on the east coast of US, there i get less lag than on english servers. But the funny thing about this issue is, that i only get a sucker ping on 213.228. IPs. I also started having problems iwth 85.236. servers, when i play BF2 online. I think those servers with that IP are also based in england. But i dont have any problem with servers having 194. IP, and they are in london i know.
Anyway, I think im gonna try and call my ISP yet another time now.

Could the recent Terrorist Attacks in the UK be affecting your choice of servers there?

They may be re-directing resources as a result of damage or to find those responsible.

I dont think so. It started almost a month ago, or maybe even more. I think it's just my ISP which is f**ked up. They are the biggest in denmark and own over 70% of the danish market, but yet they dont give some decent support, tsk tsk. It's very frustrating...
