Problems with Netgear Wireless Router

I'm having a problem with the Netgear Wirless N 300 Router.

I bought one last year for home use and it worked so well I bought one for my
family's trailer up at our camp. I'm having a problem connecting to the internet on it though.

I set it up and it detected that I had a dynamic ip address (which I do according to ipconfig/all). I am using a laptop to set it up and when I plugged into the router I had limited or no internet connectivity. I don't know how but somehow the setup went through and it setup the network.

My dads laptop actually works and he can connect to the network i set up wirlessly. I couldn't even get connectivity when I routed the ethernet cable through the router, now I can't get any internet connectivity when trying to go wireless.

My computer says it detects the network I setup and its connected with a excellent signal, but the Internet isn't working. I'm using a HP Pavilion and a program called broadcom is managing my wireless activity.

This same laptop is used at home to get on our home network, but up here I can't use the internet at all on this wireless network.

I went through and did all the usual ip config stuff, resetting the ip, doing the netsh winsock thing and even downloaded that winsockfix program. And still nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I could try next? I know the Network is working because my dad can get on with his laptop, but for some reason this computer isn't working with this network, but it works fine at home. Although I didn't use this computer to setup the network at home.

EDIT: I went back into the setup program a few times and it kept detecting that I had a static ip address. I powered the modem down and let it cycle, but for some reason it still kept detecting that I had a static ip. What would be the cause of this?
