Problems with Norton Antivirus 2003

I have ran a bunch of Virus finders and what not such as

Spy Bot
Ad Aware
Pest Patrol

Those clean it up just fine.

When I run Nortan it finds like 5 Virus's but then it can not delete them, and it says there is no access to them, I went to go find the file but it is not there.

I am running windows xp, on a Dell 2400 and I am about to rebuild the whole computer because there is just way to many things wrong.

Anyone got any Ideas

P.S.

Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy are not virus scanners. They only scan for spyware and annoying programs that use up system resources and can cause security breaches.

I'm not sure about Pest Patrol though.
