Problems with Oblivion and NWN2

    I've been having some problems with both for a while now, ever since I started making some major changes to my Computer, such as downloading Freeware from Major Geeks, and from Stardock. At first I thought it might be FreeRAM which I've since deleted, and Oblivion worked fine for a while, but now it's gone back to the way it was, with the Window flashing constantly (Which makes me think it may be unstable), NWN2 is still the way it was before, it tries to load up a game but it just freezes, then an error message pops up...

    "Microsoft Visual C++

    Runtime Library

    Assertion failed!
    Program:...
    File:.\exoresman.cpp
    Line:4211
    Expression: O&&
    'Huge file requested in resource manager. Please see exoresman.txt in the log directory for info.'
    For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts (Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled)"

    What do I have to do? I've looked at Wikipedia but that doesn't give me any answers, I've tried doing what the error message tells me to do but that doesn't lead anywhere either.

    Sorry I didn't reply right away, I've had a fair bit to do lately.:yum

    Hmm, I read in one of the other Threads that it's silly to run a program to free up RAM when you're using RAM to free it up, and thinking back I never got much out of it anyway.

    About Oblivion, I sort of fixed the visual problems, it doesn't seem to like Stardock much, so I just turn the Theme off every now and then, my problem with Oblivion was deeper than that though (Error Messages), and now it seems to have mysteriously disappeared.

    Anyway thanks for Welcoming me, not sure why I'm replying, or if I still have any problems now, have to wait and see. :/

    did you ever try reinstalling the games?

    No, it seemed like that would be too extreme and I was sure it was Software not coping with each other. Anyway as I've said I haven't had any further problems with Oblivion.

    I'll try uninstalling NWN2 right now though and see if it helps.

    Tried uninstalling, I've still got the same problem.

    I'll try something else.:major

    Ok I just found out that one other person has also encountered the problem, posted it on a Bioware site, and the results weren't good. It looks like it might be either a Bug or a RAM problem, but either way the saved game is probably already corrupted.

    It only comes up with the error message, which leads to some more information that I don't understand.

    Or at least that's how it used to be, I tried it just now and it seems to be working fine though I don't know what I did. Weird.:(
