I just purchased a new notebook and am having some problems on the internet. If I try to open an address within a email the internet crashes and a message comes up saying that the internet explorer unexspectedly quit!! It also happens if I click on something that opens a new window. The internet just quits! I have figured out that if I press the Ctrl key before I click on the crashing items then it opens them as normall and everything is ok. How can I make the computor just open them as normal without having to click on the Ctrl? Mcafee software came with my computor "internet security suite 6. I think this may have something to do with this problem but when I have looked at the settings i dont really know what anything means and there is no obvious options!!

My internet is connected through brunel university network. Would this effect it? Or is it my computor settings?

If any one knows how I might fix this please help xxx http://www.anchoredbygrace.com/smileys/fl02.gif

This is what I would do little flower -
Firstly download Avast and install but make sure McAfee is disabled when you install.
Then go to your startups and disable mcafee from starting. Reboot Avast is now your antivirus protector. Try now to click on whatever you tried and failed to do before you disabled McAfee. If it works problem solved - get rid of McAfee - deinstall.
There may be other solutions but that would be my first tilt at the problem
Hope this helps - seems to me McAfee is being either overprotective and is interfering with what you want to do and if you cannot reconfigure it then it has to go.
    Cheers
    Robert
