Problems with printer install?

I'm having problems installing a printer to a computer.

The printer is an Epson all in one CX 5200 and the computer is running WIN2K.

The printer is being installed through a cd rom.
Right away there is an error message:

Set up caused general protection fault with KRNL386.exe


Does anyone know if this has to do with drivers?
I went to the Epson driver link http://http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=18361&prodoid=24875246&infoType=Downloads&platform=All but I'm not sure which one I need.

Any advice?

There's apparantly a problem with the Driver file if you have Windows 2000 fully updated. Rather than fix their driver installer like any normal company, they instead give you a workaround (morons).

Basically, when you download an run the file, be sure to uncheck the "When Done Unzipping Run: Setup.exe" checkbox. This will make the program just extract the files and not crash your system. You can then do the following:

However, it isn't clear whether or not you should be using the TWAIN driver instead of or in addition to the printer driver. Generally, the TWAIN driver is for the scanner, so I suspect you will need the printer driver for the printer and the scanner (TWAIN) driver for the scanner.

Well, I still can't get this printer to work.

I called Epson and was told that Zone Alarm is preventing the printer from being
installed. I was then told to turn off the ZA and try the install.
I'll try tonight when I get home.
Has anyone heard of this before?
